Some pairs and trios of Pacific Northwest birds are difficult for almost everyone to distinguish by sound – at first! Using various tools of BBE – careful, analytical listening; sonograms; mnemonics – we’ll tackle some of these tricky ones, highlighting the distinctions and clues that can help you tell them apart.
